Job Description
Job Title: Principal Power Systems Electrical Engineer
Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Filton, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth, Frimley, or Manchester – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about options for this role.
What you’ll be doing
* Conduct load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of electrical power systems.
* Manage and analyze the electrical load budget.
* Develop and validate electrical models.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on power system matters.
* Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and recommendations.
* Develop and mentor other team members.
Your skills and experiences
* Degree qualified or equivalent experience in electrical engineering.
* Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
* Knowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distributions.
* Experience in electrical load budget and load flow analysis.
* Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, Simulink/Simscape, MATLAB).

The Electrical Verification Team
Involvement in verification and validation of power systems, analysis, and calculations to support electrical platform design. Relocation support available for all Submarines roles, subject to eligibility.
