Role Overview
As our Commissions Payments Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth, accurate, and efficient operation of complex payments and commission processes within our Finance Operations. You'll lead a small, specialist team, maintaining strong relationships with our partners and supporting our wider business and customer needs. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role where your analytical skills, finance expertise, and people-first mindset will make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support a team of two Commissions Analysts, overseeing daily operations.
* Act as the expert for commissions and complex payments within Finance Operations.
* Perform complex reconciliations for commissions, premiums, and claims.
* Build strong cross-team relationships to improve processes and outcomes.
* Complete monthly control checks and KPI reports, analysing variances and root causes.
* Support risk management and internal controls improvements.
* Assist in developing better data and management information (MI).
* Foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
* Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance Operations and senior stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
* Experience with commissions is a bonus but not essential.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to interpret financial data and communicate its impact clearly.
* Experience in a good financial control environment is desirable.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
* Confidence in managing multiple tasks and prioritising.
* Collaborative, team-focused approach.
* Leadership or mentoring experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Proactive mindset and drive for process improvement.
* Ability to build strong relationships across teams and levels.
