An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team as a Purchase Ledger Clerk. We're looking for a passionate and detail-oriented professional to support our expanding Pan-European Finance operations from our modern Holgate Park headquarters in York.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career in a fast-paced, growing business. Reporting to the Management Accounts team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of supplier transactions.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing purchase invoices through to payment stage
* Matching invoices to purchase orders and goods received
* Handling supplier queries and ensuring timely resolution
* Investigating and following up on invoice discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
* Managing the Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) list
* Performing supplier statement reconciliations
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
* Previous experience in a finance role such as Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Assistant, or Accounts Payable
* A qualification or equivalent experience in a numerical discipline (e.g., mathematics, finance, accounting)
* Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience using accounting systems (e.g., Access Financials) and bespoke platforms
* Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
* Sound commercial awareness and professional judgement
* A proactive, self-motivated approach to work in a dynamic environment
* Experience working with European suppliers (desirable but not essential)
