Team Leader - Medical Repair Service

As a Team Leader for our Medical Service team, your role involves taking responsibility for the safety and performance of your team, leading day-to-day activities and workload, and resolving first-line people management issues.
Your responsibilities
1. Manage a team of up to 10 repair technicians, ensuring safety and performance standards.
2. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental procedures, including PPE and waste disposal.
3. Promote a culture of reporting accidents, near misses, and potential hazards.
4. Ensure risk assessments are carried out, reviewed, and kept up to date.
5. Manage staff utilization and capacity planning, including holiday and absence management, adhering to Shop Floor Management rules.
6. Monitor team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and support, and utilizing the company’s MyPerformance system.
7. Handle first-line management issues such as return-to-work meetings, attendance, investigations, appraisals, performance improvement plans, referrals to Occupational Health, and stress risk assessments.
8. Experience in people management and development, including 1-1s, performance management, and development planning.
9. Experience in a technical or operational environment is highly desirable.
10. Possess confident communication skills and be open to difficult conversations and continuous learning.
11. Previous management training is desirable.
12. Ability to manage conflict and remain balanced in challenging situations.
13. Strong relationship-building and management skills.
14. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
15. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
