Main duties of the job
Amber Ward offers assessment and treatment of mental disorders for male and female patients over the age of 65 years with both functional and organic mental illnesses. Whilst admissions to Amber Ward encompass a broad range of mental health diagnoses, the ward team has particular expertise in the assessment and management of severe late-life mood / anxiety disorders, psychoses and behavioural and psychological symptoms in dementia (BPSDs). For the period April 2021 to April 2022, average bed occupancy on Amber Ward was 94.73%. There were 68 admissions to the ward over that time period, averaging at 5.66 per month.
