An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Adult Nurse to join the Emergency Department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
We are a designated adult Major Trauma Centre, one of only 22 in England, and also serve as a standard Trauma Centre for Paediatrics. Our colleagues from the dedicated children's Emergency Department at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital support our pediatric care.
The Emergency Department includes:
* A Resuscitation area with 5 adult bays
* 25 Major treatment spaces
* A dedicated Urgent Treatment Centre supported by a GP service and Emergency Nurse Practitioners
* A 12-chair Ambulatory Clinical Decision’s Unit
* An embedded mental health liaison team provided by Sussex Partnership NHS Trust
The ED is a busy, diverse environment where you will support patients arriving via various means, including ambulance. Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as circumstances can change rapidly.
We seek enthusiastic, motivated nurses capable of working in a fast-paced and challenging setting. Prior acute experience is preferred, but newly qualified nurses will also be considered.
Main duties include:
* Providing high-quality, compassionate care tailored to individual needs, promoting health and independence
* Demonstrating professional attitudes aligned with NHS Values
* Working as part of a clinical and care team to address patient needs
* Carrying out clinical and care tasks independently or under supervision, based on competency
* Continuously developing clinical skills, leadership, and reflective practice
We follow the National Curriculum and Competency Framework for Emergency Nursing and are committed to supporting your professional growth to become a confident Emergency Nurse.
Eligibility: We welcome applications from those with current UK NMC registration. We are not currently hiring internationally qualified nurses requiring sponsorship.
