Overview
School Business Manager. One of our prestigious schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Business Manager to join our team in Wirral. This is a vital senior leadership position responsible for the strategic management of the school's finances, human resources, facilities, and administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school operates efficiently and effectively to support the best possible outcomes for our students.
Pay: GBP40,000–GBP45,000/year (negotiable, based on experience)
Responsibilities
* Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of the school budget, including financial planning, reporting, and monitoring. Manage procurement, contracts, and ensure value for money in all school expenditures.
* Human Resources: Lead HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, performance management, and staff welfare. Ensure compliance with employment legislation and maintain the Single Central Record.
* Facilities and Premises: Manage the school's site and buildings, overseeing maintenance, health and safety, and any new building projects. Manage external contractors and ensure the school is a safe and welcoming environment.
* Administration: Supervise the school's administrative team, ensuring efficient data management, communications, and statutory returns to the DfE and Local Authority.

Experience
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful financial and business management, preferably within a school setting.
Essential
* Proven experience in a senior or middle management position.
* Strong knowledge and experience of budget management and financial procedures.
* Experience with human resources and personnel management.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A high level of proficiency in IT, particularly with financial software and Microsoft Office.
Desirable
* A professional qualification in business management, finance, or a related field.
* Experience using school management information systems like SIMS or Arbor.
* Knowledge of education sector regulations and funding mechanisms.
