About the Role
We are recruiting a small team to operate a permanent duty function for Operational Commissioning services in Charnwood and Melton. This advert is for two Social Workers to operate the service, please see separate adverts for the Team Manager and Community Support Workers that will make up the team.
The successful candidates will be motivated and experienced in Adult Social Care; able to make timely, legal, defensible assessments and decisions which best support the most vulnerable adults in Leicestershire. The duty team will cover Cognitive and Physical Disability; Mental Health and Learning Disability and Autism service areas.
Duty team staff will not hold a caseload but will support the immediate needs of new cases. You will be expected to work actively in the local community and manage risk effectively as part of the duty team and supported by the established managers and teams in the area.
Job Purpose
* Delivering excellent outcomes for people with Care Act eligibility, using the department's operating model and ways of working to deliver excellence in social care.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Be a qualified Social Worker and registered with Social Work England.
* Have knowledge of social work methodologies, social care policies such as person‑centred approaches and asset based social work, and relevant legislation including The Care Act, Mental Health Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
* Have experience of effective assessment and risk management delivery, and multi‑agency/multidisciplinary working and/or hospital discharge processes.
* Have experience of partnership working with adults to identify and meet need with creative and pragmatic solutions.
* Be a confident communicator who is skilled in diplomacy, persuasion, assertive and conflict management and able to build effective working relationships and be able to work proactively individually but also as a team member.
* Have good prioritisation and time management skills and have a valid UK driving licence or access to a vehicle.
