The purpose of this post is to work effectively as a member of a team to support in the delivery of a high quality, safe and balanced education and care service, which meets the needs of each child and their families and is in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines including the Roles and Responsibilities Framework of the Scottish Social Service Council for the Childcare Workforce.
The post holder may be required to work in an early learning and childcare setting and an out of school club during the course of the day. The post holder may support children aged 2 – 5 years old in the early learning and childcare setting and will support school aged children in the out of school club.

Brae High School is a non-denominational school located in Brae. It provides early years, primary and secondary education up to S6 for children from the north mainland of Shetland. The structure of the school is Early Years, P1-P7 which includes composites, and S1-6 classes. There is currently a total of pupils on the roll. Secondary –, Primary – and Nursery – 32. The school is managed by a Head Teacher and 2 Depute Head Teachers. The current Head Teacher is Logan Nicolson.
