Full Time 37 hours per week
Band 6 Salary Range £41,608 - £50,702 per annum + On-Call
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £2,482 per annum
Relocation Assistance of up to £8000 available
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two HCPC registered CT (Rotational) Radiographers to join our highly motivated and friendly Medical Imaging team.
Do you have experience working in a UK NHS Hospital rotating through CT and general xray, including mobiles and theatre? Are you enthusiastic about living in an island community and working in a remote and rural location? This position could be perfect for you. Come and join our small, friendly team of Radiographers and experience what Shetland has to offer.
Candidates must have up-to-date HCPC registration and a minimum of 1-years’ experience working as a fully qualified radiographer in a UK NHS Hospital, with evidence of rotating through CT. Applicants must also demonstrate a thorough understanding of our unique location and the challenges and opportunities this may present.
The Medical Imaging Department currently has a team of 15 staff, including 9 Radiographers, 3 (4) Sonographers, 1 assistant practitioner and 1 admin assistant.
Our equipment includes two general DR rooms, two DR mobiles, a Fuji Xair Digital system, DR OPT/CEPH unit, a 128 slice GE Revolution Evo CT scanner, a Philips Blueseal 1.5T MRI scanner and two GE ultrasound rooms. We have a local PACS and are fully integrated with the Scottish national PACS.
The Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick is an island general/acute hospital serving Shetland’s 22,000 residents plus the offshore oil industry and maritime population. The hospital provides acute/elective general surgical and general medical inpatient and outpatient services in addition to consultant led A&E. More specialist services are provided by visiting consultants and tele-medicine services. There is no resident Radiologist but we have reporting sonographers and reporting radiographers, and work closely with local clinicians providing the usual in/out patient, GP and acute 24-hour service cover with remote Radiologist support.
