An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rheumatology team within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a clinician with imagination, drive and commitment to work in Morecambe Bay. You will be required to have appropriate experience in rheumatology and hold or be within 6 months of obtaining certification from the General Medical Council (CCT).
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist out-patient opinion and case management;
* Contribute to the ongoing development of rheumatology services for the local population across the Bay;
* Participate in training and educational activities, administrative duties, teaching, continuing medical education and audit activities while maintaining clinical excellence within the service.
About the Department and Role
We are seeking a clinician with imagination, drive and commitment to work across Morecambe Bay. This is a replacement Consultant Rheumatologist post to join a team of 6 consultants, 4 specialist registrars, 3 GPSIs, specialist nursing staff and a fully functional wider MDT, supported by input from all associated specialties. There is no GIM commitment for this post. The post is for a full-time contract (10 PAs) with the option to work flexibly if preferred. The job is available as soon as a successful candidate is appointed.
We operate from three main hospitals—Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal—plus a number of community health care premises.
Location and Schedule
Hospitals: FGH, RLI, WGH, along with Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, Ulverston Community Health Centre, and related community facilities. The role allows full-time or part-time working arrangements as preferred.
