Overview
We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker, this is a full-time on-site role located in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The Senior Support Worker will provide dedicated support to young people, fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include mentoring, ensuring safeguarding, maintaining high-quality care standards, and supporting the development of essential life skills. The role also involves effective communication and collaboration with other team members, families, and external stakeholders to ensure the well-being and progress of those in care.
Qualifications
* Experience and expertise in providing support work and mentoring to young people.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and sustain meaningful relationships.
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and the ability to respond to challenges effectively and responsibly.
* Familiarity with technical support systems used in care environments.
* A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
* Relevant experience or training in social care, youth work, or similar settings.
* A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work toward the qualification is desirable.
* A valid driver’s license and flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, if required.
