Working Pattern: Flexible Hours/Full Time

Hours: 37 hours per week. Flexible and agile working.

DBS Check: Enhanced check. The costs for the DBS are paid by us.

About you

* A degree or an equivalent level professional qualification relevant to the role
* A passion and commitment to ensure that children succeed in their education
* You will be confident to challenge and advocate on behalf of the child.
* A background in supporting vulnerable children, including those with SEND
* Experience of working in partnerships with schools, services and families


Responsibilities

As part of the Department for Education (DfE) Change Program, we are looking for an Inclusion Support Officer to join our Inclusion team. The focus will be on supporting the implementation of the local inclusion support offer and the inclusive mainstream practice guidance. We are looking for an Inclusion Officer to work with schools; RCC SEND and children’s services team; alternative providers and families to support children to ensure they are getting the best from their education, whatever that may look like. This will include working with schools and the schools’ support partnership to ensure that inclusive mainstream practice (IMP) and the graduated response is followed.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract until end of March 2026 at which point there may be the opportunity to extend the end of Augst 2026.

This post may be suitable for a secondment for internal colleagues, who should gain their current line managers approval before applying for this position.

The Inclusion Support Officer interviews will be held Friday 19 th September 2025.
