The team operates in a fast‑paced, customer-centric environment, working closely across Housing, Wellbeing and Licensing services to ensure residents and applicants receive a professional, efficient service.
Your new role
As a Business Support Officer, your job will be to provide essential administrative and customer support across a broad range of services. This is a varied and busy role, ideal for someone who enjoys juggling multiple tasks, working with different stakeholders and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Answering iing calls, booking appointments, taking messages and guiding applicants through processes
Coordinating Taxi Knowledge Test bookings and liaising with trainers once payments are confirmed
Creating, updating and maintaining records for new and renewal licensing applications
Managing shared inboxes and ensuring queries are handled promptly and accurately
Maintaining the Document Management System (DMS), including monitoring queues and correct filing
Sending appointment and booking confirmations
Logging food inspections, skin piercing applications and housing review files
Monitoring registration mailboxes and online portals and forwarding items as required
Preparing Housing Review files for submission
Supporting workload queues, team inboxes and general administrative tasks
Checking, distributing and filing electronic and paper post
What you'll need to succeed
1. Experience of licensing
2. Previous experience in an administrative or business support role
3. A proactive, team‑focused approach with the ability to work independently
4. Excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detail
5. Confident written and verbalmunication skills
6. Good IT skills, including email and electronic record‑keeping systems
7. The ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively
8. A flexible, adaptable mindset and a willingness to learn
