As a trainee, you will be undertaking, assisting, and learning how to:
1. Prepare period end financial statements for companies, partnerships, and sole traders
2. Prepare period end tax returns including corporation tax, partnership, and personal tax
3. Bookkeeping and VAT reporting
4. Develop knowledge of various accounting packages and keep up to date with them
5. Direct client interaction to ensure accounts are finalised in a timely manner
6. Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs
We will cover all costs towards your training programme, providing a debt-free route to a professional qualification.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9-5pm with a one-hour lunch. No weekends.
Training STANDARD & LEVEL: The successful candidate will work towards completing the Level 3 Assistant Accountant Standard from the Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education, delivered by Blackpool and The Fylde College, offering expert tuition and facilities.
Personalised programme: Your B&FC apprenticeship consists of various elements tailored to your abilities and career goals. Our expert tutors and assessors have relevant industry experience and will support your achievement.
Off-the-job training: 20% of your apprenticeship, equivalent to one full day a week, will be 'off-the-job'. This may include attending college, projects, online learning, coaching, shadowing, or job training.
Assessment and support: Assessment mainly occurs in the workplace. You will be assigned a skills coach who will visit at least once a month to guide and support your development. Additional support for English, maths, or other needs will also be provided.
Entry requirements: Level 3 with a minimum of Grade A in English and Maths, or C (9-4) (or equivalent), or willingness to complete Functional Skills Level 2 before EPA Gateway.
Skills required: High standards of ethics, professional and personal; ability to work well in a busy team; good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills; general IT proficiency.
