Job Title: Youth Mentor (Specialist Support Role)
Area: Rochdale, Greater Manchester
Start Date: Monday 18th May 2026
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Daily Rate: £550 - £750 per week (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term time

About the Role:

As a Youth Mentor, you'll work at the heart of a close-knit team dedicated to empowering some of the most complex and vulnerable young people in the borough. This isn't a role for the faint-hearted - it's for someone who understands that behaviour is communication, that progress isn't always linear, and that showing up consistently for a young person can be the most powerful intervention of all.

Whether you're delivering one-to-one mentoring, leading group sessions, supporting in the classroom, or helping a student navigate a crisis moment, your impact will be felt every single day.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in a mentoring, youth work, behaviour support, or pastoral role - ideally within a SEND, SEMH, or alternative provision setting
A deep understanding of the challenges faced by young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused in complex situations
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across students, families, and professionals
A creative, energetic approach to engaging young people who may have disengaged from traditional learning
A background in psychology, social work, youth services, or mental health would be a strong advantageTo Be Eligible You Must:

Hold Right to Work in the UK
Have an enhanced DBS certificate already on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
Provide two professional references from child-related roles
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
