Job Details Grade: 9A Hourly Rate: £24.74 - £26.72 Salary: £45,153.19 - £48,766.68 per annum Contract Duration: Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE Interviews will be held Wednesday 8th July 2026 Role Purpose We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care and Health team in the East Locality (Berwickshire and Cheviot). This is an exciting opportunity to support individuals to live as independently as possible and achieve meaningful outcomes. You will carry out a wide range of occupational therapy services, including assessment, care planning, and rehabilitation, working within a multi-disciplinary environment to deliver high-quality, person-centred care. Key Responsibilities - Undertake outcome-focused occupational therapy assessments and develop effective care plans - Provide specialist advice, guidance, and support to individuals, families, and carers - Promote safe and effective moving and handling practices - Recommend and arrange equipment, adaptations, and housing solutions - Develop and deliver rehabilitation programmes to support independence and wellbeing - Manage and prioritise a caseload, ensuring accurate and timely recording - Work collaboratively with partners, agencies, and the wider community - Contribute to service development and continuous improvement - Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development What We’re Looking For: - Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy - Registration with the HCPC - Experience working with adults and/or vulnerable individuals - Strong assessment, risk management, and care planning skills - Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Knowledge of community care and relevant legislation - Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered) What We Offer: - A supportive and collaborative team environment - Opportunities for professional development and career progression - Regular supervision and access to training - The chance to make a real difference to people’s lives Essential Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy Registered with HCPC A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.* * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
