This post is based in our Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic doctor who is either looking to develop their experience before applying for specialist training or looking for a trust grade post to continue their own personal development in this area. We are looking to recruit 1.0 WTE position on a permanent contract.
This post would be well suited to a doctor interested in gaining experience and training at the level of a second year foundation trainee in a friendly, energetic and ambitious hospital set in beautiful part of the South coast of England. The doctor would join a group of 8 FY2 and CST doctors working in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
Main duties of the job
Clinical duties include daily rounds of inpatients with the support of a Registrar, regular Consultant ward rounds and there will be opportunities to attend outpatient clinics and theatre sessions. The post holder will take appropriate responsibility for investigations and management of inpatients

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Within the Divisions, each specialty/department is responsible for delivering high quality patient treatment and care within the resources allocated to it. Clinical Directors or Clinical Leads are assigned to individual specialties/departments, or groups thereof. All medical staff are expected to take an active part in the affairs of their specialty/department.
The successful candidate will be professionally accountable to the Divisional Director and managerially accountable to the Divisional Manager. Senior medical staff must participate in annual appraisals and job planning meetings, at which objectives are set and reviewed.

Education, Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full Registration with a licence to practice
* Evidence of commitment to continuing Professional Development – willingness to undertake relevant courses
Experience
Essential criteria
* 1 years’ experience at foundation level or equivalent. This should include recent and substantial UK experience
* Evidence of ability to communicate effectively, in English, both written and oral.
* Experience of multidisciplinary working.
* Evidence of working independently
Skills, Abilities& Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi-professional and team basis with all levels of staff
* Understanding of clinical governance and the individual responsibilities it implies
* Evidence of commitment to pursue a career in a surgically related specialty.
* Evidence of ability to analyse and diagnose situations, prioritise and act accordingly
Audit & Research
Essential criteria
* Knowledge of medical and clinical audit principles and evidence of direct involvement in 2 specific medical audits in the last 18 months.
