Our Housing Sustainability and Net Zero team is growing to support social housing providers and public sector organisations in progressing net zero carbon agendas.
We are looking for individuals with demonstrable industry experience in supporting housing sustainability programmes to support investment planning and delivery on the net zero carbon agenda.
Our Consultants come from a range of organisations including energy and sustainability consultancies, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies, local authorities, and housing associations and have experience in development and delivery of housing and/or real estate sustainability projects, including retrofit.
Responsibilities
* Line manage junior consultants and support their professional development and delivery of high-quality work.
* Support the development of business cases for new service areas to expand our reach to cover new clients, sectors and technologies.
* Lead project management activities including client liaison, team resource management and budget management.
* Support social landlords and public sector bodies through the delivery journey of their net-zero strategies and investment programmes (awareness, business case, decision, procurement, build, monitoring and completion).
* Lead the analysis of housing asset data to benchmark energy performance and develop investment scenarios against energy performance and net zero targets.
* Support social landlords to measure environmental performance and to develop ESG strategies and reporting frameworks (with focus on environment and awareness of social and governance issues for housing providers).
* Support the delivery of industry assistance programmes including the Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator, working with housing providers to build retrofit capacity.
Qualifications
* Degree qualified or equivalent relevant work experience in sustainability or environment topics with a focus on housing and/or the built environment.
* Systematic project management experience, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects often concurrently.
* Experience interpreting and using data to drive decarbonisation and asset planning, turning data into realisable projects and programmes.
* Strong subject-matter expertise in net zero and ESG policy and strategy in the social housing sector.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply the most suitable approach for clients and teams.
* Strong relationship management skills developed through client-facing roles.
