Employment Advisor Annual Salary: £30,.90 per annum Hours: 39 hours per week Location: Pan-London based in Royal Borough of Greenwich Dynamic? Effective? Creative? At Unity Works, our vision is an inclusive world where people with a learning disability who want to work, can work. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to work as part of our Employment Team across London with a focus initially in working in and around the Royal Borough of Greenwich in our Work Train Greenwich Team. Delivered in partnership with Volunteer Centre Greenwich, Greenwich Mencap and the Royal Borough of Greenwich, WorkTrain Greenwich supports adults with a learning disability to find opportunities for paid work, work experience or voluntary roles The Role You will work closely with our pan-London supported employment team and work together in developing relationships with a range of stakeholders including employers, job brokerage teams, job centres, local community groups and our partners in Greenwich. Employment Advisors support individuals to develop a career pathway and overcome barriers; equipping and enabling individuals to gain employment and offering personalised support from: Managing a caseload of people with learning disability/autism to develop their career goals and employability skills. Supporting with applications, interviews and in-work support. Engaging employers to increase awareness of the benefits of employing people with a learning disability. Negotiating reasonable adjustments in the workplace Engaging employers to increase awareness of the benefits of employing people with a learning disability. Why Us? You will understand the needs of people with a learning disability in relation to securing and keeping employment and working towards targets. You will have the energy to engage with people, build productive working relationships and empower people to reach their potential. You will have the ability to provide advice, guidance and employment support to people with a learning disability or have experience providing the above to other vulnerable groups You will be able to analyse and relate individual¿s needs to match to jobs and to think creatively in order to overcome barriers. You will self-motivate to work independently to meet targets and prioritise workload effectively. You will be proactive in establishing local labour market and network knowledge.
