Role overview:
This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy, and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with experience in developing the standards and reputation of this new gym while nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Responsible for maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and follow up on all defects to ensure the building and its equipment are safe to use.
* Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operationally covered and that daily expectations are met.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the entire gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
* Ensure in-house cleaners (General Assistants) maintain high cleaning standards. Manage weekly banking to minimise wastage and variance, maximising profit.
* Ensure all team members adhere to uniform standards.
* Always deliver outstanding member service.
* Create an environment where the team enjoys their work.
* Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven management experience within a leisure-related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
* Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
* Track record in driving sales, local marketing, recruiting, and managing a successful team.
* Experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational role.
