Jackson Hogg is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering business in East Cleveland with over 60 years in operation. Supplying defence, marine, rail, and power sectors, including international export, this is a business with genuine heritage, modern investment in plant and equipment, and a strong reputation for developing its people.
The Role
You will be setting, programming, and operating large-format CNC milling and horizontal boring machines, producing a range of precision components from billets, fabrications, castings, and forgings. Work is varied, technically demanding, and requires a careful approach to quality, as customers trust this business with complex, high-value components.
Machines in operation include:
* Hyundai WIA KBN135-CL — 4m x 2m x 2m travel, 15-tonne table capacity, Fanuc CNC control, B-axis table (0.001°), ATC, 90° angled, orthogonal, and facing heads
* Hartford PBM135C — 3000mm x 2000mm x 2000mm, 15-tonne table loading, FANUC 31iMB CNC control system
What We're Looking For
* Time-served machinist, completed a recognised Machine Shop apprenticeship
* Demonstrable experience setting and operating large-format milling machines or horizontal borers
* Proven ability to set one-off and short-run jobs independently, from drawing to finished component
* CNC programming skills, Fanuc control experience preferred
* Strong manual measurement skills covering dimensions and surface finish
* Confident reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings
