Hours: 8:00 am - Finish, Monday to Friday (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday 4 pm, Thursday 5 pm, Friday 4 pm)

About Aurora Chaldon School:
As part of our growth strategy, The Aurora Group is opening a new SEND Secondary School in September 2025 in Chaldon, Surrey, for young people aged 11-19 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing, typically associated with Autism. Our students have access to a broad, exciting curriculum aligned with the national curriculum, personalized to meet their needs, interests, and passions. With small classes, high levels of support, and a multidisciplinary intervention team, we aim to give students every opportunity to achieve.
We are looking to recruit a Senior Administration Assistant (Students) to join our team at Chaldon School. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the school's initial journey. The role is based at Aurora Chaldon School with flexibility to work at our satellite site in Caterham when required.
The main purpose of the role:
The Senior Administration Assistant (Students) will be responsible for day-to-day pupil administration, including inquiries, referrals, registration, and review documentation preparation.
Key duties include:
1. Coordinating with the commissioning and placements team for visits and admission paperwork, liaising with the SENDCo team, and maintaining pupil files.
2. Maintaining pupil records on the school MIS, updating registers, and monitoring absences.
3. Processing orders and notifying staff upon receipt.
4. Promoting school lunches to parents and liaising with suppliers.
5. Assisting with First Aid and medication administration when needed.
6. Supporting staff with school trips, including initial inquiries and final bookings.

Skills and Qualifications:
Ideal candidate qualities:
1. GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Experience in an administrative role, preferably in a school setting.
4. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and database use.
5. Touch typing skills are desirable.
6. Organized with good time management.
7. Discreet, confidential, and reliable.
8. Experience with SEN children/young adults is desirable.
