Job Description:
Are you a Mechanical Engineer with a passion for creating sustainable solutions?
Join Stantec and help us tackle the urgent climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our communities!
This is an expression of interest ahead of AMP 8. We are open to speaking with Mechanical Engineers interested in joining our Water Business in the South of England, with opportunities at our offices in Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, or Southampton. You will contribute to our reputation within the local communities by providing mechanical design services for various projects.
We are excited about our growth prospects, and this is a good opportunity to join an experienced team that offers support and career progression opportunities.
You will be responsible for collaborating with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to achieve positive project outcomes. You will also mentor less experienced team members.
Stantec offers numerous learning and development opportunities across the UK and Ireland. As an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you will help develop the team by mentoring or guiding less experienced colleagues.
We offer many benefits, including a competitive benefits package, a strong culture of learning and development, and a positive working environment. As we expand our business, future opportunities across our diverse business lines may become available to further your career.
About You
The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Engineer, ideally Chartered or Incorporated with the IMechE, with experience in mechanical design.
You should have experience producing technical outputs such as specifications, pump and aeration system sizing and design, schedules, reports, and be familiar with collaborative planning reviews and solution designs.
You will be capable of providing engineering input for design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, including General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
Strong communication skills are essential, including delivering technical presentations to clients and design engineers, participating in collaborative design discussions, technical workshops, safety reviews, HAZOPs, and ALMs.
While experience in the Water sector is preferred, candidates with experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors in a mechanical engineering capacity are also encouraged to apply.
Most importantly, you will embody and support our values of client focus, community-minded design, collaboration, and service excellence.
