2nd Line IT Support Engineer (x2) – Contract Role
Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
Contract: July 2025 – May 2026
Type: Full-time, On-site
Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35)
A well-established public sector organisation in the Harrogate area is seeking two experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineers to join its internal IT team on a contract basis. These roles will provide vital support across a busy IT environment, ensuring the smooth running of end-user systems, infrastructure, and essential services across multiple clinical and administrative teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 2nd line technical support across desktop, laptop, and mobile hardware
* Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
* Respond to and resolve tickets within SLA, escalating complex issues to 3rd line where necessary
* Support clinical and business applications, printing services, and network connectivity
* Assist with user onboarding, account setups, and permission/access management
* Provide on-site support across departments, including occasional ward or clinic environments
* Document resolutions and contribute to service improvement and process refinement
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in a 2nd line IT support or desktop engineering role
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies: Windows OS, Office 365, Active Directory
* Confident in managing user accounts, troubleshooting hardware, and resolving software issues
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work with end-users across all levels
* Experience working within public sector or healthcare IT environments is desirable
* Must be able to pass standard background checks for sensitive environments
* Driving licence preferred but not essential
