In Westmorland & Furness we are working in collaboration with our looked after young people and care leavers aged 16-25 years to further improve outcomes and to support all to reach their potential within education, employment, and training. You will work to enhance and support opportunities for young people and care leavers aged 16 – 25 years into education, employment or training. You will be a part of a very supportive team who are aspirational about the difference we can all make to this incredible group of young people. The post will sit within the Virtual School Team but will be closely aligned with the Children Looked After and Leaving Care team within Children’s Services. Who we are looking for… The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, who can build strong relationships with colleagues across agencies and services working with these young people as well as the young people themselves. You will also be compassionate working with integrity, dealing sensitively and appropriately with key information, especially with those young people who may have suffered trauma. Experience in an educational or social care setting would be desirable, as well as knowledge and understanding of Children Looked After, care leavers, apprenticeships and personal education plans, but overall, we are looking for someone dedicated, kind and efficient.
