About the Role PJD Mechanical Engineering Ltd are industry leaders in welding, fabrication, and mechanical services across the UK’s power generation, energy-from-waste, and heavy industrial sectors. We’re now seeking an experienced Welding Foreman to lead our on-site and workshop welding teams — someone who can plan, supervise, and deliver high-quality work while setting the standard hands-on through mirror welding and attending tube leaks when required. Key Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and coordinate teams of welders to deliver quality, safety, and performance. Support hands-on welding activities, including mirror welding and tube leak attendance. Plan and oversee daily welding activities to meet project schedules and client specifications. Interpret drawings, isometrics, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy. Monitor welding quality, ensuring compliance with ASME, AWS, and EN ISO standards. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings, promoting a proactive safety culture. Mentor welders to maintain and achieve codings and develop technical skills. Oversee welding plant and consumables, ensuring readiness and compliance. Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on welding progress and inspection results. About You You’re a skilled, experienced welder with proven leadership ability — confident on the tools, respected by your team, and dedicated to getting the job done right. You’ll bring: Proven experience as a Welding Foreman, Lead Welder, or Welding Supervisor on industrial or construction projects Strong working knowledge of MMA, TIG, MIG, and FCAW welding processes Competence in mirror welding and fine-tolerance work Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately Leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach Commitment to quality, safety, and compliance Desirable: Experience within power generation, energy-from-waste, or large-scale mechanical projects, and familiarity with weld mapping or QA/QC processes.
