Salary:
£45,628+ depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
1. Developing the Combat System Electrical Architecture in conjunction with the Whole Boat Electrical team to deliver a viable design including high integrity capability.
2. Representing the Combat System team at relevant working groups to support platform and Combat System design maturity.
3. Leading the integration strategy with the CS Build team and platform design teams by developing strategies for routed systems including cabling.
4. Providing technical input and engineering solutions in support of build and integration activities, defect resolution, and change management.
5. Coordinating the Combat Systems sub-system teams to develop a suitable electrical system architecture.
6. Representing Combat Systems at the Electrical and Cooling Working Groups.
7. Attending Major Area reviews to ensure Combat Systems maintains a viable design within the platform.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
* BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent.
* CEng (or able to satisfy requirements for CEng).
* Technical report writing skills.
* Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle.
Desirable
* Knowledge and experience of defense standards; not essential but advantageous.
* Experience with submarine electrical systems and the application of scenarios is highly desirable.

The Combat Systems team:
The Principal Engineer - Electrical (Combat Systems) supports development, analysis, integration, and verification of Combat System and its sub-systems. The primary role is to develop the electrical system architecture and collaborate with WB Electrical teams to deliver a suitable system design. The Principal Engineer leads all electrical aspects of the Combat System level design and manages project plans and schedules to meet program maturity targets while resolving emergent issues.
