About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science Department to deliver engaging and practical science lessons. You'll ensure all labs are prepared with the necessary equipment and materials, maintain a safe working environment, and support both teachers and students during practical experiments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for lessons.
* Assist in demonstrations and practical activities across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
* Maintain and clean equipment and laboratories in line with health and safety protocols.
* Manage stock levels and order supplies when needed.
* Ensure safe storage and disposal of chemicals and biological specimens.
* Support teachers and pupils during practical lessons as required.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a laboratory or educational environment is desirable.
* Science qualifications at A-level or equivalent; a degree in a science subject is advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
* Understanding of health and safety regulations in a lab setting.
* A commitment to supporting young people's education and development.
