KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Part of the warehouse team in frozen food production. We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to support our warehouse operations, ensuring goods flow efficiently, safely, and in line with Food Safety and Health & Safety standards, aligned with company-documented H&S and Good Manufacturing Practices. This includes unloading and loading inbound and outbound pallets safely under the guidance of the warehouse supervisor.
Additionally, the role encompasses the efficient distribution of production-required goods to the relevant stores, following daily plans and components lists, as well as the removal of no-longer-needed items for return to the warehouse. The upkeep of SAP records for pallet movement, accurate stocktaking as directed by warehouse and logistics management, and immediate reporting of SAP and physical stock discrepancies to the warehouse manager are also key components.
Keeping the warehouse stores and yard consistently clean, organised, and prepared for audits is essential, as is the responsible use of company equipment with appropriate safety gear and adherence to established policies. Maintaining on-site store security, pest-proofing measures and prompt reporting of any security or pest issues to the warehouse management team are vital aspects of the role as well.
Pay: £13.91 per hour (£12.81 training rate on dayshift)
GOODS IN/GOODS OUT
* Safely load and unload pallets of inbound and outbound goods.
* Use company forklifts to load/unload pallets from wagons safely in compliance with forklift-trained processes and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
* Accurately complete the goods in inspection sheets (noting all batch, BBD, condition, and transport status information) and sign delivery notes before passing them to relevant team members for booking onto the SAP system.
* Accurately complete the goods out stock transfer sheet (noting SAP container, SAP code, pallet quantity, batch, and BBD) before passing it to the relevant team member for processing through SAP.
* To ensure that all goods in pallets are received in good condition and to alert the warehouse management team to any unsatisfactory items before receipt.
LINE FEED OPERATIONS
* Use the weekly plan and components lists to assess production requirements of raw materials (ambient, chilled, and frozen). Liaising with production team leaders/supervisors to understand time-sensitive issues and ensure that space is clear and available for pallet movements to occur.
* To move correct products to and from the relevant production stores using company forklifts in full compliance with forklift-trained processes and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
* To scan pallet movements using the RDT equipment accurately and consistently, maintaining SAP database accuracy and fully completing the manual pallet movement logs.
* Report any SAP-related issues promptly to the warehouse management team.
STOCK CONTROL
* Play an active role in stock control through stock-takes and ad-hoc counts, as instructed by the warehouse management team.
* To report all stock errors/inaccuracies immediately and proactively maintain stock accuracy across the business.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience working within the food industry and a working knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
* Forklift trained with current and valid forklift training certification.
* Good understanding of written and spoken English is required.
* Good H&S knowledge and application.
