Overview
Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C) – Southport. Hybrid working available with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in-office when needed.
Responsibilities
* Manage an individual caseload in a clinical negligence setting, under supervision and in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in delivering the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
* Record time accurately and thoroughly.
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
* Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service; coordinate information gathering to progress cases.
* Proactively manage a caseload in a commercial manner; coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties.
* Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction; negotiate settlements and, if required, issue and serve proceedings; conduct litigation as needed.
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team; advise on technical issues with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department.
* Mentor and coach junior team members to develop skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and experience
* Recent experience handling a caseload in clinical negligence or 0-5 years PQE/NQ to 5 years PQE or equivalent.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong communication and drafting abilities.
* Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness within a legal environment.
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
* Flexible and committed to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
* Excellent client care skills.
