St Euphrasia's is a care home for Religious Sisters and therefore can only accept applications from Female carers
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, and will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a blend of practical caregiving skills, empathy, and the ability to follow care plans diligently.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
* Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed for clients with specific challenges.
* Maintain accurate records of client care and progress, including case management documentation.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and review care plans tailored to individual needs.
* to lead the shift when lead carer on shift .
* Engage in activities that promote mental stimulation and physical well-being.
Requirements
* Proven experience in caregiving roles,
* Ability to organise and run a shift
* Prepared to cover on call as needed
* Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices is essential.
* Knowledge of first aid procedures is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Ability to follow detailed care plans while being adaptable to changing client requirements.
