Qualified Teacher
Salary: From £34,398 per annum plus a £1000 Joining Bonus
Contract terms: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 8:45am – 4:45pm
Tuesday: 8:45am – 5:30pm
Friday: 8:45am – 4:30pm
(Part Time working options are available – To include Tuesdays and Fridays as a minimum)
Annual leave: 56 days (In line with school term time) plus bank holidays

As part of the Qualified Teaching team, you will support our autistic pupils using instruction based on behaviour analysis and positive reinforcement techniques to accelerate learning. Working within small class groups or on a 1:1 basis, you will use specialised support plans to help pupils meet their individual needs and achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for designing, planning and delivering the wider school curriculum and special events that encourage development, enhance learning and provides unique opportunities to our pupils

Training & Development Opportunities
12. A range of fully funded training pathways including behaviour analysis specific qualifications such as CABAS Teaching Ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), UK Society for Behaviour Analysis certification UKBA (cert) and a Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities (worth up to £13,000)
Responsibilities of the Class Teaching
13. Provide support and teaching based on behaviour analysis to autistic pupils
14. Collect, record and analyse data to monitor progress and develop support plans
15. Interact and participate with the pupils in the development of skills that support their social and emotional development
16. Lead and take part in educational visits and off-site activities with pupils (during school hours)
Qualified Teaching Team
17. Contribute to the design of an engaging school curriculum, providing differentiated long, medium and short-term plans
18. Plan and deliver school-wide curriculum activities such as topic lessons and themed event/weeks
19. Oversee the implementation and evaluations of wider school curriculum plan
20. Support the delivery of life skills programmes and entry level qualifications for students, including assessments, recording evidence and internal moderation
21. Contribute to team meetings and the school’s newsletter
To be successful in this role you will need:
22. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teaching & Learning Status (QTLS) Candidate
(For Early Careers Teachers (ECT’s) - A minimum of 1 year of the supported induction process to have been completed in a mainstream setting)
23. Teaching experience within the UK school system and an understanding of the National Curriculum in England
24. An interest in and/or experience of working in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
25. Confident working with children who exhibit behaviours that challenge and supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
26. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholders
27. An understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
28. The ability to perform tasks of a physical nature (often demanding) including twisting and stooping and working at a lower height
29. A commitment to Jigsaw’s ongoing training and professional development programme
30. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
31. Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
32. A positive, can-do attitude
