Head of Service General Duties and Responsibilities * 2.1 To contribute to the delivery of performance management to ensure timely, effective and good quality outcomes for children and young people * 2.2 To directly manage a group of Team Managers and, through them, social work services. * 2.3 To supervise Team Managers. * 2.5 To ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical requirements * 2.9 To develop processes and practice which ensures consultation and engagement with children, young people and their carer's in service planning and delivery * 2.10 To develop and manage business processes and related relationships such as procurement * 2.12 To effectively manage resources; meeting demand; developing individuals, monitoring and challenging performance as necessary * 2.13 To use all recording systems as procedures requires * 2.14 To be responsible for leading specific service areas that are changeable depending upon business need. * 2.15 To offer coaching and mentoring across the service as required * 2.17 Commensurate to the grade of Head of Service to undertake other duties that may arise from time to time as determined by the Assistant Director. CRITERIA ESSENTIAL Education/Qualifications * Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Child Care or Equivalent.
