Overview The Agricultural Science team within PepsiCo Global R&D is seeking a Crop Technology Associate Scientist to contribute to the evaluation, testing, and global deployment of crop‑technology solutions. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple technologies, is keen to understand how new tools and practices perform in real‑world field conditions, and can communicate clearly to support consistent adoption across global field teams. The role contributes to the rigorous assessment and effective deployment of crop‑technology tools that underpin high‑quality research, variety assessment, and field trialling across regions. Responsibilities • Contribute to the evaluation, testing, and validation of crop‑technology solutions, including phenotyping tools, field measurement methods, and alternative agricultural practices, across diverse field conditions. • Participate in method validation and trials across global trialling locations, contributing to the assessment of both technical performance and practical usability. • Play a key role in the deployment of validated crop‑technology tools and methods into global field‑trial networks, including introduction and use by partner growers in commercially relevant settings. • Work with internal and external stakeholders to enable the practical adoption of technologies in on‑farm environments. • Contribute to the development and maintenance of clear, practical SOPs, user guides, and equipment instructions, ensuring consistent application across sites and grower contexts. • Translate technical information into clear, field‑appropriate guidance and collect post‑deployment feedback to support the continuous improvement of tools, methods, and processes. • Where relevant, contribute to the assessment of the impact of novel crop‑technology solutions on crop physiology, supporting interpretation of observed field responses. Qualifications • BSc or MSc in Agriculture, Crop Science, Agronomy, Plant Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline, with around three years’ experience supporting field‑based research, trials, or ag‑technology projects. • Practical experience with potato crops, ideally within processing or crisping systems; experience with oats is an advantage. • Hands‑on experience with field and post‑harvest trialling technologies, including equipment operation, basic calibration or troubleshooting, and use or updating of SOPs. • Experience supporting the implementation or validation of new tools, technologies, or methods, including gathering user feedback and contributing to improvements. • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, global teams, building positive working relationships with technical and operational stakeholders. • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, support defined workstreams, and contribute reliably within a collaborative team environment. • A proactive and curious mindset, strong attention to detail, and an interest in applying new technologies to real‑world agricultural challenges.
