Westonbirt School are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work within the Learning Support Department to support a designated Year 7 pupil 1:1 as well as within the classrooms and around the school in line with an ECHP.
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm. 5 days per week.
Fixed term contract, term time only. Contract is dependent upon the pupil being at the school and based on this timeframe.

Job Description:
9. To provide full time one-to- one support for a named EHCP Year 7 pupil.
10. To work individually and in a class environment to support learning.
11. To liaise with teachers and SENDCO on content of delivery and outcomes of lessons.
12. To monitor and support the social and physical development of the pupil.
13. To assist the Subject Teacher to deliver the curriculum to an individual child who has special educational needs.
14. To monitor, evaluate and record the child’s progress and attainment in order to feedback to the teachers, SENDCO and parents as appropriate.
15. To assist teachers in the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans for the nominated pupil.
16. To work on individual programmes and strategies with the pupil under the direction and guidance of the class teacher and in accordance with the SENDCO.
17. To provide pastoral support to the nominated pupil.
18. To follow and implement the school's rules and policies, including those on behaviour, safeguarding and GDPR.
19. To be willing to attend SEND training.
20. To participate in school activities, attend meetings and training and perform supervision duties as appropriate.
21. To be aware of the school safeguarding policy and to act according to its instruction.
22. To establish constructive relationships and communicate with parents and outside agencies /professionals.
23. To be punctual and diligent in the execution of your duties.
24. To undertake such other duties as are required by the Head of Learning Support.
Person Specification:
25. Previous experience in working with SEND pupils
26. Excellent communication skills with children and adults.
27. A relevant NVQ or similar qualification related to working with children or an interest in gaining experience in working to promote inclusion in an educational setting
28. The ability to work as successfully as part of a team.
29. Empathy, compassion and positivity.
30. Good written communication skills.
31. A sense of responsibility and able to use their initiative.
32. A constructive and problem-solving attitude.
