This role will suit someone who is passionate about empowering communities, encouraging engagement, and ensuring residents have a strong voice in shaping the services they receive. The role: Resident Involvement Officer Reporting to: Resident Involvement & Scrutiny Manager You will be responsible for promoting the organisation’s resident involvement strategy at a regional level, coordinating and delivering a range of activities that support residents to engage meaningfully. You’ll also evidence the positive impact of resident engagement and play a key role in supporting resident-led scrutiny of services. What You’ll Do: Act as the primary point of contact for resident involvement at a local level, building strong working relationships with residents and internal teams. Develop and facilitate local involvement opportunities, responding to resident enquiries about training, events, and funding. Maintain accurate records of involved residents and produce reports in line with KPIs. Drive forward digital engagement, using online tools and techniques to offer residents multiple channels of involvement. Manage funding allocations to local groups, ensuring monitoring and auditing requirements are met. Support compliance with the sector’s regulatory framework, assisting residents and colleagues in their engagement activities. Organise and deliver resident engagement events, partnership days, and conferences. Collect and present data to enable scrutiny committees to review services effectively. Lead the setup and ongoing support of Service Improvement Groups (SIGs) and Task & Finish Groups, ensuring actions are followed up. We are looking for someone with: Strong communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation. Excellent people skills with the ability to support residents who may lack confidence in formal involvement settings. Analytical ability to interpret performance data and present it in an accessible way. Strong team-working skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and levels. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently. A good standard of education with strong written and verbal skills. Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Flexibility to attend evening or weekend meetings as needed. The ability to travel within the region. Desirable: Experience in project management. Background in resident involvement, community development, or housing. Experience delivering training sessions to internal teams or residents.
