Overview
Registered Nurse - Medical Elective Services at NHS, York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. MES treats approximately 600 patients a month and is a nurse-led outpatient service open Monday to Friday, 0700-1900. This role is 30 hours per week and involves cross-site cover to support the MES clinic development at Selby. Interviews are in person at York Hospital.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment
* Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure access to appropriate information
* Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in patient care
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
* Undertake duties on different wards/departments as required by service demands
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills
* Essential: UK NMC Registered Nurse
* Essential: Awareness of current issues in healthcare
* Desirable: Awareness of specialty/department; experience in an acute healthcare setting
* Essential: Enthusiastic and self-motivated; committed to working with people
