We are looking for an Affiliates Writer to join the Manchester Evening News team reporting on all things Tech & Gaming. This is an exciting opportunity to publish engaging and revenue generating content including affiliate links that provide our readers with up to date and honest reviews about the trending products, new releases and deals.

This role is primarily home based but is linked to our Manchester Hub.

What will the role involve?
You will play a pivotal role in our Affiliates Team and our plans to grow our affiliate content, by writing engaging and informative reviews and social content, specialising in Tech & Gaming content. You will find new and innovative ways to promote your content off-platform especially around major affiliate opportunities including Black Friday, concert launches, Amazon Prime Day and more.
You will research, write and publish high quality articles, reviews, live blogs and buying guides that help save our readers time and money, becoming an authority for consumer tips and recommendations. You will utilise our suite of analytical tools including but not limited to Trackonomics, Chartbeat, Google Trends to identify opportunities for commercial content. You will create and implement content plans to drive traffic, ensuring you meet daily revenue targets with ease. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including some evenings and weekends, so a flexible approach is required.
Who are we looking for?
You are an NCTJ qualified journalist or equivalent with UK media law knowledge and proven experience of working in a fast paced digital newsroom environment. You have a clear passion for tech and gaming products, and stay up to date on the latest launches across social platforms, from watching longform YouTube reviews to investigating trending topics on TikTok. You have a good understanding of affiliate content and are brimming with pitches for exciting new audience led content. You have a keen eye for spotting trending Tech & Gaming products that you think our readers would be interested in.
You have excellent knowledge of social media platforms and can create engaging videos to accompany your written content, whether you’re at home or live blogging from an event. You are a first class writer who can create accurate content at pace and meet deadlines with ease. You have excellent commercial awareness and experience in crafting organic SEO content.
