Senior Electrical Contracts Manager
Role Overview
* We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee the electrical aspects of a large-scale MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) hospital project in Plymouth valued at £48 million. The successful candidate will ensure the project is executed efficiently, on time, and within budget, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Lead all electrical contract aspects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
* Planning and Coordination: Develop project plans, coordinate with MEP disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Resource Management: Allocate labour, materials, and equipment effectively.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with standards, conduct inspections.
* Safety Compliance: Implement safety protocols, address issues promptly.
* Budget Control: Monitor expenditures, prepare financial reports.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks.
* Client Communication: Provide updates and address client concerns.
* Documentation: Maintain contracts, permits, change orders.
* Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project team members.
Qualifications and Experience
* Extensive experience in electrical engineering and project management, preferably in healthcare MEP projects.
* Knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and project management software.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Attention to detail and compliance with project specifications.
* Core Electrical Qualifications: 236 Part 1&2, 18th Edition, City & Guilds 2391, JIB Gold Card.
* Certifications: SMSTS, PMP or PRINCE2, NEC3/NEC4 Contract Training.
Work Environment
The role is based initially in Exeter until December, then at Derriford Hospital FHP1 site in Plymouth until project completion in December 2028. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, supported by a comprehensive team structure.
