Waking Nights Support Assistant

£12.70 per hour

20 hours per week

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Support Assistant CQC Registered, Learning Disabilities Service at Sycamore Court in Leicester.

The role of Support Assistant will include:

* Providing a high quality, hands-on support service
* Supporting customers to build the confidence they need to gain further independence
* Encouraging customers to develop their daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
* Working with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcome for our customers
* Maintaining a safe environment for clients, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures and practices

Skills and experiences:

* Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable adults, however candidates with a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
* Experience working as part of a team is essential
* You will be empathetic and non-judgmental with a positive approach to managing challenging behaviour
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills
* Literacy and numeracy equivalent to at least GCSE Grade C English and Mathematics, is essential
* NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is desirable
