Overview
The post holder will work within the Maternity Education Team and deliver the education objectives of the Perinatal Health Directorate, understanding that the service is in a period of transformation. The Clinical Educator will be a proactive role-model that delivers a programme of education and supports practice development; clinical education and workforce transformation across the Perinatal Directorate. Supports leadership and gives advice and support, fostering a learning culture that values high quality patient care, evidence-based practice, research and innovation. Works in partnership with the practice development leads, clinical leads, senior midwives and nurses, matrons, and other colleagues within the Directorate to deliver effective strategies to enhance staff satisfaction, engagement, improved retention and multi-disciplinary team working to achieve agreed common goals and outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Ensures the highest standards of education, research, and clinical care are in place and in collaboration with the trust and practice development leads implements, maintains and evaluates systems and processes, which ensure standards are maintained.
* A clinically credible practitioner, the post holder will utilise their clinical experience and related skills to provide support for all staff and demonstrate a commitment to the development Directorate priorities.
* The post holder will contribute to developing clinical practice to promote high quality care. They may work some of their time within the clinical setting supporting learning and establishing change in practice.
* Educators will be responsible for equipment management and effective use of learning resources.
