We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Pharmacist with an interest in the Women's and Children's Directorate. The post involves leading the provision of medicines optimization to our Women's and Children's teams in a varied and dynamic division. The successful candidate will work closely with ward-based teams, implementing the principles of the modern ward round, using skills, knowledge, and experience to directly impact patient care.
The post holder will:
1. Lead and support the pharmacy service provided to the Women's & Children's Directorate, which includes children's wards, outpatient services, the Special Care Baby Unit, Community Children's Nursing, School Nursing & Health Visitors, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology inpatient and outpatient services.
2. Work closely with consultants, lead and specialist nurses and midwives, and other staff involved with pharmacy services in the Directorate.
3. Be a proactive member of the Network Neonatal and Women's Health Pharmacists Group, contributing to healthcare improvements.
4. Coordinate specialist pharmacy clinical services, oversee and investigate medicines-related safety incidents, and monitor financial and clinical governance within the Directorate.
5. Lead on evidence-based prescribing advice to ensure effective, appropriate, sustainable, cost-effective, and safe use of medicines, promoting patient-centered care.
6. Support the review or development of guidelines for prescribing, administering, and storing medicines in the Directorate, working closely with regional trusts.
