The responsibility of a Claims Handler at Arch Insurance Company (Europe) Limited relates to the handling of all healthcare claims generated by Arch managed syndicates/companies in all territories, particularly the US.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
1. Handle healthcare (and some casualty) claims emanating from Arch’s Lloyds and company platforms.
2. Responsible for the delivery of a high level claims service. This involves regular communication with claims manager and underwriters.
3. Assist underwriters in the implementation of their overall underwriting strategy, both in terms of business development and assistance with wordings.
4. Manage service providers involved in the claims function on a day to day basis.
5. Assist in aspects of coverage and potential recovery.
Technical Expertise
6. Adhering to the Arch Insurance (Europe) Ltd reserving philosophy and ensuring claims are reserved in a consistent and accurate manner.
7. Responsibility for handling losses within handler’s authority levels.
8. Assist Underwriters, when required, on policy interpretation and wording issues. Deliver concise, clear and accurate reports, such as Large Loss and Risk Alert Reports.
Manage external service providers
9. Manage relationships with brokers, Insureds, Coverholders and third-party providers
10. Feedback on the performance of technical experts i.e. lawyers and loss adjusters and ensuring adherence to SLA’s
11. Feedback on the performance of TPA’s
12. Audit of TPA’s
Claims Strategy & Market Leadership
13. Involved in the delivery of the department's business goals and objectives.
14. Representing Arch Insurance (Europe) Ltd in the London market, for both Lloyd’s and company platforms.
15. Where Arch are agreement party, act as a market lead including strategy planning, managing market calls/meetings and the demands/expectations of market followers
16. Delivery of claims tasks and projects outside day-to-day workflow
