Glioma Technician

Salary: UofG Grade 7, £41,064 - £46,049 per annum
This is a full-time, open-ended position with funding available for up to 24 months from the start date. There is potential for a further 24 months of funding, subject to a successful mid-term review by the funders.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced technician to contribute to the Scottish Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence. The successful candidate will manage and deliver in vitro and in vivo glioma research services within the Wolfson Wohl Cancer Research Centre and the CRUK Scotland Institute. They will collaborate with leading scientists and students to design and conduct experiments aimed at improving treatments for glioblastoma and other brain tumours.
Responsibilities include managing laboratory space, equipment, and consumables, overseeing technical facilities and support staff, and potentially training students through workshops and practical sessions. The role requires providing technical leadership to maximize research output and ensuring the safe operation of technical resources.
Candidates should possess extensive technical expertise in preclinical cancer or neuroscience research and be familiar with relevant health and safety legislation.
