About the Role
This full-time, term-time position is ideal for someone with experience or a deep passion for supporting children on the autism spectrum. You will work closely with pupils and teaching staff to support personalised learning plans, encourage positive behaviour, and help create an environment tailored to the unique needs of each child.

* Assist in delivering autism-focused interventions, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
* Support pupils with their individual learning plans, helping them overcome barriers and achieve success.
* Promote positive social interaction and communication, fostering emotional wellbeing.
* Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to deliver consistent, holistic support for students with autism.
* Help maintain a calm, structured, and accessible learning environment tailored to the needs of autistic pupils.
* Keep accurate records of pupil progress, contribute to reviews, and participate in meetings related to SEN provision.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting children with autism is highly desirable.
* A patient, calm, and empathetic approach with the ability to manage behaviour effectively.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, particularly in working alongside teachers and external professionals.
* A commitment to helping children with autism and other SEN achieve their personal best.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
* Autism-related training or qualifications (e.g., TEACCH, PECs, Makaton, or other relevant training) is desirable but not essential.
What the School Offers
* A welcoming and inclusive school environment focused on supporting pupils with autism and other additional needs.
* Ongoing professional development, with specific training in autism support.
* A supportive and experienced team, including a dedicated SENCO and leadership staff.
* Good transport links, including easy access to public transport and on-site parking.
* A safe, positive, and nurturing atmosphere where both staff and pupils are valued and supported.
