Head of Human Resources, CIHT – Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation
Location: Central London (hybrid – 2 days in office, 1 day remote)
Salary: £60k (PRO RATA)
Contract: Part-time (22.5 hours per week across 3 days) | Permanent
CIHT, the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation, is seeking a proactive and collaborative Head of Human Resources to lead and deliver our people strategy at a pivotal time of organisational growth and digital transformation.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate & Business Services and working closely with the Senior Management Team, you will provide both strategic and operational HR expertise, shaping a high-performing, inclusive and future-ready workforce.
This is a senior hands-on role, managing our internal HR & Office Manager and partnering across departments to drive performance, support change initiatives, and embed best practice across the employee lifecycle.
You will lead on areas including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, policy development, compliance, and learning and development. You’ll also play a key role in supporting culture, wellbeing and our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
The ideal candidate will bring experience in an HR management role, ideally within a charity, membership body or similar organisation. You will be CIPD qualified (Level 5 or equivalent), with strong interpersonal skills, a commercial mindset and the ability to influence at all levels.
