Overview
We are seeking a professional Aerospace Actuations Engineer to support our Global Supply Chain solutions within Quest Global. This role bridges both Manufacturing and Quality Engineering, ensuring that assemblies meet aerospace standards for performance, reliability, and safety and are also shipped on time to their customers.
Responsibilities
* Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
* Understanding of design of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic actuation systems for aerospace platforms
* Perform system testing of actuators, sensors, and control systems as required
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including avionics, structures, and systems engineering
* Knowledge of qualification and certification activities in line with aerospace regulations
* Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001)
* Develop and maintain Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments
* Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
* Participate in internal and external audits
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
* Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
* Support development of production processes, tooling, and work instructions
* Evaluate and improve manufacturing workflows for efficiency and cost reduction
* Provide technical support during production, including troubleshooting and resolving non-conformances
* Collaborate with suppliers to ensure component quality and manufacturability
* Assist in transitioning products from prototype to full-scale production
* Able to prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design reports, test procedures, and compliance records
* Ensure in depth understanding of traceability of materials and processes in accordance with aerospace standards
* Experience with manufacturing of actuation assemblies
* Ability to oversee assembly of components
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
* Experience in actuation systems design (hydraulic, electric, or electromechanical)
* Strong understanding of control systems and mechanical systems integration
* Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulatory requirements
* Experience with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and analysis software
* Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, SPC, root cause analysis)
* Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, assembly, additive manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in aerospace or defense industry
* Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, or DO-254 standards (as applicable)
* Lean Six Sigma certification
* Experience working with suppliers and production environments
* Programming or simulation experience (MATLAB/Simulink, Python, etc.)
