Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join a friendly practice team as a Practice Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber, delivering a daily Minor Ailments service and contributing to quality general medical services, prescribing, and population health within the practice.
Responsibilities
* Deliver a daily Minor Ailments service in collaboration with the clinical team.
* Work within your scope of practice with autonomy in patient care; identify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs across the practice.
* Undertake patient medication reviews within the surgery, prescribe and update medications.
* Support training and mentoring of medical students; participate in continued professional development, mentorship, and support to ensure competence and confidence in the role.
* Lead on clinical areas including audits and chronic disease management; contribute to strategic development of primary care and public health services within the practice and wider organisation; liaise across multi-professional and agency boundaries.
* Drive practice innovation, address ambiguous or unique problems, and develop new ways of working; promote evidence-based practice and effective communication within the team.
* Help drive the pharmacy element of training and support trainee independent prescribers; participate in pilot services and other ventures with St. Paul’s Clinic.
* Lead on setting standards and promoting best practice; uphold high standards of probity.
Qualifications
Essential
* Completion of Pharmacy degree
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Evidence of recent and relevant Continuing Professional Development
* Experience of working within a pharmacy team, preferably at a GP surgery
Desirable
* Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society; Independent non-medical prescriber
* Previous experience in a GP surgery/ Primary care focusing on long-term conditions and minor illnesses
Experience
* Essential: Experience of working within a pharmacy team—preferably at a GP surgery
* Desirable: Prior GP surgery/ Primary care experience with long-term conditions and minor illnesses
