Our client is seeking a Fire Package Manager to join the Tranche 5 team delivering the Terminal 2 Baggage Programme (T2BP), a complex and high-value infrastructure project at Heathrow Airport. The role involves managing fire-related packages through the design, installation, commissioning, and handover phases, ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance. You will champion best practices in safety management, lead supplier package management during design, and develop installation and commissioning strategies. The role requires close collaboration with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams to optimise build sequences, promote modern construction methods, and support procurement and commercial activities. You will also provide technical input on control strategies and ensure alignment with project objectives, driving continuous improvement and delivering a safe, efficient, and high-quality outcome within a live operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and implement best practices and safety initiatives across design and site delivery.
Set clear objectives, take ownership, and organise resources to meet project targets.
Manage supplier packages during design, including risk and commercial aspects.
Develop installation, commissioning, and handover strategies, reviewing client deliverables.
Champion constructability improvements and modern methods of construction.
Review and challenge high-level control strategies.
Support procurement and commercial teams with scope, budgets, and incentivisation.
Coordinate specialist input for design, specifications, and commissioning strategies.
Skills:
High-level knowledge of controls, systems, and integration.
Understanding of engineering and construction principles for mechanical, electrical, and controls.
Experience working in the aviation sector.
Package management of subcontractors in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and delivery environments.
Proven people management experience on complex or sensitive programmes.
Ability to influence and gain buy-in to enable change.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Risk and commercial management expertise.
Knowledge of safety management and health & safety best practices.
Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Software/Tools:
